Rothman affects an imposing physicality that serves [Sweeney Todd] well. The anger and anguish reads across every part of him, from pale face to broad shoulders to the heavy way he walks across the stage. Todd is a ghost of a man, continually ruined by tragedy, and Rothman channels it into every line he speaks and every lyric he belts

Equally matched to Ray’s convict with a conscience is Danny Rothman as the loathsome inspector who we all love to hate, “Javert”. Good God, where was this man when they were casting the film version?! Mr. Rothman blew the roof off of the circular theater, forever ridding me of Russell Crowe’s lackluster vocals in the film which totally depleted the impact that the character has and left me wanting Javert to throw himself into the river for an entirely different reason.

Valjean’s nemesis is well played by Danny Rothman. He has a huge vocal range where he belts out some bass notes and then displays his high baritone a few notes later. Danny’s two solo numbers are “Stars” where he compares his hunt of Valjean to discovering the order of the stars in the constellation and in “Javert’s Suicide” where he commits suicide after he realizes Valjean isn’t pure evil like he thought all along. This realization shatters his lifelong view of the world. The confrontations between the two leads are splendid to behold in this superb rendition.

Danny Rothman makes for a worthy foe as Javert, the self-righteous lawman who pursues Valjean through the years, and his takes on “Stars” and “Soliloquy” are two more of the evening’s vocal highlights.

The casting is one of the many strengths of this terrific production, with a large number of cast members recruited from outside Greater Boston. As the obsessive Javert, Danny Rothman is a fine adversary for Ray, with a great set of pipes to match his menacing presence as Valjean’s antagonist.

Danny Rothman brings fresh and earnest energy to the supercop Javert, giving him humanity when lesser Javerts simply glower

Will Ray (Jean Valjean) and Danny Rothman (Javert) are the two main reason to reacquaint yourself with ‘Les Miserables’.
— Steve Duffy, LYNN HAPPENS
Danny Rothman as Javert and his powerhouse of a voice light up ‘Stars’ as never heard before.
